Applications are invited from highly motivated, committed, dedicated, and sincere applicants having the following qualifications for the post of Assistant Professor (Genetics and Plant Breeding) for the Faculty Centre for ‘Agriculture, Rural, and Tribal Development (ARTD)’ located at Morabadi, Ranchi (Jharkhand) of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute (deemed to be university under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956).

  1. B.Sc. (Hons.) in Agriculture with at least 65% marks in percentage system OR its equivalent grade in point scale system by a recognized university/institute
  2. M.Sc. in Genetics and Plant Breeding / Plant Breeding with minimum 55% marks in percentage system OR its equivalent grade in point scale system adopted by the recognized university/institute
  3. Candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or CSIR or ICAR or a similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET or awarded the Ph.D. degree (in Genetics and Plant Breeding / Plant Breeding) from a recognized university / institute in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of PhD Degree) Regulations 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET.

Teaching/ Research experience in Genetics and Plant Breeding / Plant Breeding
  1. Initial contract for one year at fixed remuneration of Rs. 60000/- per month (consolidated).
  2. Extendable further, subject to annual review & evaluation.
  3. The likelihood of becoming permanent will be considered at the appropriate time.

General Instructions

  • Non-refundable application processing fees of Rs. 1000/-+ transaction charges (if any) should be paid online, and the receipt of the payment should be sent through the above email ID along with the filled-up application form. Click to pay the application fee.
  • In-service candidates should forward their applications through the proper channel. No objection certificate has to be produced at the time of the interview.
  • The university reserves the right not to fill up the vacancy advertised in case of the non-availability of suitable candidates.

  • The university reserves the right to reject any application form due to non-observance of the instructions.
  • No TA or DA is admissible to attend the selection process or interview.

Instructions to fill up the form

  1. Candidates may directly make use of this application format to type their information. However, they need not be restricted to the space provided here, which means applicants can increase the size of the cells within the table and insert additional columns or rows in the table (if necessary).
  2. Any additional information that is not covered in the application format but that you think is necessary to provide to us, such as details of your expertise, skills, experience, etc. in the related area and computer knowledge, and any other information you think is an added strength for the job, may be added to a separate page(s), but in continuation after the application form in the same file.
  3. The filled-in application, along with other self-attested photocopies of the documents like mark sheets, certificates, technical or experience certificates, etc., should be sent (in PDF format) to the email addresses and on or before 8 November 2025 (Saturday).
  4. The email should be sent with the subject title “Application for the Post of Assistant Professor (Genetics and Plant Breeding)”.
  5. Applications not in the proper format (provided by us) will not be considered. In the event of a higher number of applications received for the post, the institute reserves the right to screen and shortlist the candidates for further selection processes like presentations, written tests, interviews, etc., as per the rules of the institute. No communication will be entertained in this regard.
