Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for the position of Research Associate and Research Assistant at the Department of Agriculture, Rural and Tribal Development at Faculty Centre for ‘Integrated Rural & Tribal Development and Management (IRTDM)’, RKMVU located at Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Morabadi, Ranchi in an ICSSR funded project entitled: “An Ethnographic Account on the Well Being of the Elderly and Related Public Issues with Reference to the Tribals of Eastern India.”
Project Duration: The project duration is for 22 months and the appointment shall be purely on temporary basis as stipulated by the existing rules of the ICSSR and RKMVU, Ranchi Campus. The appointment shall be coterminous with the duration of project. The appointment shall be initially for a period of six months, renewable after six months depending on the performance of research associate and research assistant (subject to availability of fund). The Research Associate/ Research Assistant will be expected to enroll in full-time Ph.D. programme of the institute upon successful demonstration of his/her research and academic capabilities within the first two quarters. The institute may consider continuing the fellowship after the expiry of the project duration, provided the institute finds research progress of the researcher worthy of it (subject to availability of fund).
Essential Qualification:
- Research Associate: Master’s degree or equivalent in Social Anthropology/Sociology/ Social Work/ Rural Development/ Social Psychology or allied social science disciplines with minimum 55% marks. Two years of research experience after post-graduation is essential.
- Research Assistant: Master’s degree or equivalent in Social Anthropology/Sociology/ Social Work/ Rural Development/ Social Psychology or allied social science disciplines with minimum 55% marks.
Desirable Qualifications: Candidates should have considerable interest and ideas of fieldwork in remote tribal villages of West Bengal, Jharkhand and Orissa. M.Phil./NET/SET qualified will be preferred.
Pay: As per ICSSR guidelines (Rs. 16000/- for Research Associate and Rs. 13000/- for Research Assistant consolidated amount per month). Separate allowances will be provided during fieldwork as per norms.
Note: No TA and DA will be paid to those who appear for interview.
